Planted these a few weeks ago and they’re already sprouting with vigor. The netted skin on the fruit looks exactly like the classic rockmelon I remember from my grandfather’s garden.

I love that this is an heirloom variety with a real story behind it—Professor Meader's work in the 1960s is fascinating. The seeds arrived looking healthy and uniform, and I'm excited to see that classic netted skin on the melons.

These germinated in just over a week and the seedlings look incredibly sturdy. I love that it's an heirloom variety with that classic netted skin, and knowing it came from a 1966 professor's donation makes it feel like a piece of history in my garden.
