The roots on these lucerne seedlings are already pushing deeper than my veggie plants ever did after just a few weeks. Can't wait to dig it all in at the 13-week mark.

I was amazed at how quickly it established—the seeds germinated in under a week with consistent watering. My sandy soil felt noticeably more crumbly after just a few weeks of growth. Planning to dig it in right at the 13-week mark for a solid green manure boost.

The roots really do go deep—I dug one up at 12 weeks and it was nearly two feet long, pulling up soil that my usual veggies never touch. The bulk amount lasted me two full beds, and cutting it down at first flowers was easy with a scythe.
