Dahlia 'Apricot Peachy' Tuber

These tubers came up fast and by late July I had blooms the size of dinner plates, way bigger than the pompon dahlias I used to grow. The ruffled petals open in that soft peachy copper range and shift as the light changes. Only thing is the stems get top-heavy in wind, so have stakes ready.

Those ruffled blooms really are huge—each one opened up like a dinner plate in copper, bronze, and peach shades that shift as the light hits them. My garden's been the talk of the block for weeks.

I planted these tubers in late spring and by August the copper and peach tones were unreal in the evening light. The ruffled petals on each bloom make them look almost like they belong in a bouquet rather than my backyard bed.
