I've been digging in the lucerne at 13 weeks, and the soil structure is noticeably better already. My tomatoes have never looked this vigorous after a green manure crop.

The root system is incredible—I tilled a patch and saw the difference in soil texture within a few weeks. Cutting it at the first flower signs was easy, and my garden beds just feel lighter now. This worked exactly as described for improving heavy clay.

Picked a patch of it at 13 weeks and the soil underneath was noticeably easier to work. The roots really do loosen up the heavy clay in a way my vegetables never managed. Only gave it four stars because the seeds are tiny and tricky to sow evenly.
