I was surprised at how quickly these germinated—sprouts appeared in under a week. The leaves have a nice peppery kick that livens up salads, and the flowers are a pretty addition to the plate.

The kids love spotting the ladybird-like dots on the flowers, and the big seeds made planting foolproof even for little hands. The edible blooms add a nice peppery kick to our summer salads.

The spicy leaves are a huge hit in my salads, and the kids can’t stop picking the spotted flowers to snack on. Even the sowing part was fun since the seeds are so chunky and easy for little fingers to place.
