I was surprised by how deep the purple color got as these carrots matured—definitely more vivid than any orange carrot I've grown. The historical connection to the original Afghan carrot makes them feel special in the garden.

These sprouted in just under a week, and the deep purple color is stunning even before they're fully grown. I can't wait to harvest them and taste the history in this heirloom variety.

The taproot coloring is a real conversation starter in salads—pairs great with the orange ones for a striking contrast. Took about a week to germinate indoors, which felt normal for carrots, and the purple held its hue even after roasting.
