The spiraling growth habit is no joke—mine wrapped around the trellis in tight coils within a week, and the pods are a breeze to spot among the leaves. Harvesting from the teepee was actually fun, and the screen it created shaded the lettuce nicely.

These beans really do climb like crazy — my trellis was covered in less than three weeks. The spiral growth habit is fascinating to watch, and the pods are easy to spot for harvesting.

The purple-streaked pods are gorgeous against the teepee frame, and the spiraling growth habit really does make training it up to the crossbars a breeze. I’ve got a full edible screen by mid-July, and harvesting is so easy since everything hangs at eye level.
