三色堇 '心臟病'

Planted these in a small pot on my windowsill and the seedlings popped up within a week. I love that they’re a historic medicinal herb, though I’m just growing them for their cheerful little purple and yellow flowers.

The seeds were tiny but germinated fast, and now I have a patch of cheerful purple and yellow blooms that actually self-seeded from last year. I love that it's the same medicinal herb the old herbalists used, adds a nice layer of meaning to my garden.

Planted these in a sunny patch by the fence and they popped up within a week, exactly as described. The deep purple and yellow blooms are even prettier than the picture.
