香豌豆 'Painted Lady'

These bicolor blooms are really something special—the pink and cream petals look almost hand-painted. I love that I'm growing a piece of gardening history that dates back to the 1700s. Even just a few plants have filled my trellis with a gentle, old-fashioned charm.

I've grown sweet peas for years, but Painted Lady's soft pink and cream bicolor petals look even more delicate in person than in any catalog photo. The vines climbed my trellis faster than I expected, and the flowers have a lovely old-fashioned charm.

I wish the germination rate had been a bit higher, but the ones that did sprout are now showing off that classic bicolour bloom just as described. It's amazing to think this is the same flower from the 1700s.
