羅素羽扇豆

The foliage alone is worth it—those fan-shaped leaves look gorgeous even before the spires open. Bloomed into a chaotic but beautiful mix of jewel and pastel shades that somehow all work together.

Planted these in late spring and the mixed jewel and pastel spikes are already putting on a show above that feathery, fan-like foliage. The whole bed reads as one warm, shimmering haze rather than a bunch of separate plants—exactly the coherent look I was hoping for.

These flower spikes really do create a dazzling, coherent display, and the pastel shades mixed with jewel tones are even prettier in person. The dissected fan-like foliage is a lovely backdrop too.
