南瓜 '皺皮奶油果'

Harvested three of these violin-shaped beauties last week, each well over 6kg, and they've already become the talk of the neighbourhood. The deep wrinkles on the skin give them such a unique look compared to regular butternuts.

Planted these in early spring and by late summer we were hauling out violins that looked just like the photos, one easily topped 6kg. The deep creases make them almost too pretty to cook, but they're fantastic for roasting. Definitely the talking point of my whole garden this year.

The seedlings popped up fast and sturdy, exactly what you want for a fun project. My first pumpkin is already shaping up like a violin and the deep creases give it so much character. Only wish the seed packet had more detailed spacing tips.
