Penstemon 'Norgate's Scarlet'

The bees went absolutely crazy for these fiery red spikes, and the plants handled our dry, rocky soil without any fuss. I love that they keep blooming into the summer with almost no watering.

I planted these in a spot that only gets morning sun, and they're still putting out those vivid red flower spikes. The tubular blooms are already attracting more hummingbirds than I've ever seen in my yard.

My clay soil gets baking hot in July, but this penstemon hasn't flinched—those tubular red flowers keep popping open and the bees won't leave them alone.
