Picked the first ripe one this morning and the flesh was so sweet and juicy it practically melted. You can really taste why this heirloom from the 1800s is still so popular. Already planning where to plant a second tree.

I’ve never tasted a nectarine this intensely sweet and juicy straight off the tree—it’s like candy with a hint of honey. The fruit has that perfect balance of firmness and melt-in-your-mouth texture.

My neighbor grows these and I was jealous, but now my own young tree just set its first fruit. The flesh is meltingly soft with that intense heirloom sweetness you rarely find anymore. So glad I tracked down this old variety.
