I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly these sprouted—harvesting in just one month is incredibly satisfying for a home gardener. The compact heads fit perfectly in my raised bed, and the crisp red leaves add a nice crunch to my salads.

The heads are smaller than standard iceberg but that makes them perfect for my small garden. The deep red color is gorgeous and they were ready to harvest in about a month from transplanting. Crisp and crunchy, just like the green kind.
