蜀葵 '黑色'

The seedlings are already sprouting strong after just a week, and I can't wait to see those near-black flowers from the 1629 heirloom strain in my garden. The seed packet's illustration is exactly what I'm hoping for.

I’ve never seen a flower quite this color in person—the petals are a deep carmine that really does read as almost black in the shade. It’s been fun telling people it’s the same variety John Parkinson wrote about back in 1629, and the plants are already looking sturdy in my cottage border.
