矢車菊「紅球」

Planted these in early spring and the tall stems with felted foliage held up beautifully through a windy week. The buttonhole-sized blooms are perfectly round and that magenta shade really pops in the garden.

That deep magenta color is even more vivid in person than the photos suggested. The flowers are perfectly rounded and held nicely above the foliage, making them ideal for cutting. I've already got them in a vase as a buttonhole bloom.

The stems are surprisingly sturdy, so these held up beautifully in a vase for over a week. That magenta-red is so deep it almost looks velvet in the afternoon light, and the fine felted leaves add a nice soft texture underneath.
