The true Johnny-Jump-Up, also known as Heartsease for its use in treating a range of ailments throughout the ages- ranging from bronchial complaints to fevers to skin problems. We grow it purely for its endearing tri-coloured, face-like flowers and its ability to self seed where other violets dare not. It is the ultimate ground cover for planting under spring bulbs flowering from late winter right through to summer.

John H. ★★★★★

Planted these in a small pot on my windowsill and the seedlings popped up within a week. I love that they’re a historic medicinal herb, though I’m just growing them for their cheerful little purple and yellow flowers.

Lucy ★★★★★

The seeds were tiny but germinated fast, and now I have a patch of cheerful purple and yellow blooms that actually self-seeded from last year. I love that it's the same medicinal herb the old herbalists used, adds a nice layer of meaning to my garden.

Mia C. ★★★★★

Planted these in a sunny patch by the fence and they popped up within a week, exactly as described. The deep purple and yellow blooms are even prettier than the picture.
