This plant is a natural source pyrethrins – a natural insecticide – making it an excellent companion for your garden. Upright stems rise from soft ferny foliage and are topped with umbels of white daisy-like flowers. Interestingly, there is a greater concentration of pyrenthrins in the centre of the flower, rather than the petals. These flowers can also be dried and ground into an insecticidal powder.

The ferny foliage looks delicate but the stems are surprisingly sturdy, and the white daisy-like umbels have been a nice addition to my flower beds so far. I’m glad to have a natural pyrethrin source growing right in the garden, though it’s still too early to tell how effective it’ll be as a compani
