Category: Plants

A high-yielding, self-pollinating (bisexual) sweet yellow papaya capable of fruiting in as little as 4-6 months. The sweet, melting flesh of the papaya is the epitome of exotic backyard fruit, but you don't have to live in the tropics to grow your own. Happily growing outside in cooler areas if planted in a protected spot, preferably against a north-facing wall. It will also grow well in a pot inside, where its tropical-looking leaves create a striking effect. Self-pollinating, so no need for more than one plant for fruit.

Charlotte ★★★★★

Planted two in March and the first papaya was ready by August, right on that 4-6 month window. The flesh is genuinely sweet and melts in your mouth, and I didn't need a second tree for fruit since it's self-pollinating.

The fruit started forming at month five, and the sweetness is incredible—like candy straight from the garden. I love that it's self-pollinating, so I didn't have to worry about planting multiple trees.

I planted this papaya just over four months ago and it’s already loaded with fruit, the self-pollinating flowers are a huge plus for a small backyard. The first ripe one had that classic sweet, melting flesh that melts in your mouth exactly as promised.
