Lettuce 'Rouge D' Hiver' (Organic)

I was a bit worried the brown-red color would be too dark, but these leaves are actually stunning in the garden. The cold weather really brought out the deep burgundy tones, fading beautifully to green near the center just like the description promised.

Even with our short, cool autumn days, these seeds germinated reliably and the color deepened beautifully as promised. The heart stayed a tender, pale green while the outer leaves were a stunning burgundy.

The deep brown-red color on these leaves is exactly as described, and they’ve held up beautifully through a few light frosts. I’m already harvesting tender inner leaves for salads, and the flavor is noticeably milder than standard green lettuce.
