Forellenschluss translates loosely to 'speckled trout' and it's easy to see why! The lime-green leaves of this Austrian heirloom are splashed with maroon - reminiscent of the markings on a trout's back. It's decorative in the garden and on the plate.

Zoe Q. ★★★★★

These seeds germinated quickly, and the speckled maroon on the lime-green leaves is even more vivid in person than I expected. A really unique looking lettuce that adds some pop to the salad bowl.

Benjamin M. ★★★★★

The maroon speckles on the lime-green leaves are even more striking in person than in the description. I’ve already harvested a few for salads and they added such a beautiful, peppery kick.

Aurora ★★★★★

These seeds germinated incredibly fast, within just a few days. The maroon speckles on the lime-green leaves are even more beautiful than the pictures suggested, looking just like a trout. It’s a really unique and striking variety for the garden.
