One of the best loose leaf types and about as red as they come with a soft buttery texture. It is slow to bolt to seed making it a good choice for warmer weather.

Finally got these in the ground and the buttery texture on the leaves is just as described. Slower to bolt than my usual lettuce, so it's holding up great in this warm spell.

The deep red color on these leaves is really stunning, and they stay tender even as the weather warms up. I've been harvesting for weeks and it's still going strong with no sign of bolting.

Penelope ★★★★★ Oct 20, 2026

These seeds germinated quickly and the leaves are the deepest red I've seen in a lettuce. The buttery texture really stood out in my salads, and I appreciate that it held up well during a warm spell without bolting.
