Striking nodding flowers are produced in whorls around the top of the stems of this virtually impenetrable ground cover, which is suited to shady areas of the garden. The vigorous roots, like the herbal comfrey, may require root barriers to control spread in some situations.

Violet N. ★★★★★

Planted these in a shady corner that nothing else would grow in, and they've taken off beautifully. The roots really are vigorous as described, filling in the bare spot within a single season.

Nicholas ★★★★★

The whorled blue flowers are even prettier in person, and the roots have already grabbed hold in my dry shade bed. It's turned a patchy corner into a dense, weed-proof carpet faster than I expected, which is exactly what I needed.

Harper ★★★★★

Planted these in a shady spot under the maple tree, and they've already started filling in nicely. The flowers are a really pretty blue and keep coming.
