Chilli 'Padron'

I love how quickly these sprouted and that the heat varies from pod to pod, it keeps things interesting when cooking. The greens are mild enough for daily use but the occasional red one gives a real kick.

They germinated fast and the plants are loaded with those little green pods, which I love frying up in olive oil with sea salt. The whole fun is the gamble, because most are mild and sweet but you know that occasional one is going to light you up. Already planning a second row for next season.

The occasional surprise hot one is exactly what the description promises, and it’s honestly fun to gamble with each batch. I picked mine green and they were mild enough to snack on, though a few definitely woke me up.
