Category: Seeds

One of the first heirloom beans to grace our catalogue pages, this bean is now produced exclusively on site in our preservation and production garden at Dromana. Bearing a crop early in the season, the stringless flat green pods remain crisp and tender for an extended harvest. An early maturing romano-type pole bean with unusual cold-tolerance, it's named after the cold winds that blow in from the Western North Atlantic ocean, and while this bean has its roots in Italy, it's legacy is found a home in the United States.

Lily O. ★★★★★

The early harvest was the big win for me—these were already producing while my other bean varieties were still just vines. Knowing they're grown right in the preservation garden gives me confidence in the seed quality, too.

Ellie P. ★★★★★

These beans sprouted vigorously and were the first to produce pods in my garden this year. I’m thrilled with how well they’re performing in our cooler spring weather.

Lucy ★★★★★

Planted these in early spring and they were already producing pods before my other bean varieties had even flowered. The seeds themselves looked healthy and plump straight out of the packet.
