The deep plum leaves have such a rich, almost velvety look that really stands out against my lighter succulents. Those bright yellow flowers were a total surprise this winter, adding a pop of color when everything else was dormant.

Planted these in a rockery border last spring and the deep plum rosettes have held their colour beautifully through the summer heat. The bright yellow winter flowers are going to be a nice surprise come late winter.

The yellow flowers popped up right on schedule in late winter, and they look stunning against those dark plum rosettes. It’s been completely drought-tolerant so far, even in a pot that I keep forgetting to water.
