Commercial farmers designed our planting boxes. And they're lab-tested to ensure their performance. But, most importantly, they're an easy way to grow your produce with little fuss. Just add potting mix, plants, and water following our simple instructions, and enjoy homegrown veggies at your fingertips.

This sustainable self-watering system prevents weeds, conserves water, and reduces fertilizer usage. In addition, it grows bigger plants faster than a traditional garden—with virtually no effort and zero guesswork. You'll be amazed at your success!

What You Can Grow in Our Vegetable Planter Boxes

You can grow almost anything in an EarthBox® Root & Veg™ plant box for vegetables! We recommend these vegetables, fruits, and herbs for this growing system.

Our vegetable planting box is perfectly sized to grow all types of vegetables. The box is nearly 16 inches deep. It was designed to accommodate carrots, parsnips, rutabagas, beets, and onions since those roots are larger.

Water and Fertilizer are Essential for Box Gardens

After planting, there are two major concerns: water and fertilizer. We help take care of the watering part with our self-watering planting boxes.

We also help with the fertilizer. You can select two mixtures, each designed to address specific plant types.

The Standard 7-7-7 Fertilizer is excellent for all plants. However, it's highly recommended for growing all fruiting and root crops, such as:

• Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Squash, Carrots, Onions, Beets, Pumpkins/Gourds, Strawberries, Turnips, Okra, Garlic, Radishes, Parsnips, Rutabagas, Jicama.

The Natural 8-3-5 Fertilizer is recommended for only growing leafy and cruciferous vegetables and herbs such as:

• Lettuce, Salad Greens, Herbs, Spinach, Kale, Artichokes, Brussels Sprouts, Chard, Celery, Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Leeks, Collards/Mustard Greens, Kohlrabi.

The EarthBox® Root & Veg™ planting box for vegetables operates and uses the same components as the EarthBox Original. But it features a square design and a deeper growing space!

Our planting boxes and growing system provide a low-maintenance, fail-proof design backed by science. It applies tried-and-true commercial growing concepts. But scales them to a small footprint that produces better results than traditional in-ground gardens. So even those without a green thumb can use it to grow vegetables.

When will I receive my order?
Use the calculator at the top of this page or during checkout to find your estimated delivery date. Orders are shipped directly from our Lancaster, PA headquarters within 1-2 business days (Monday-Friday) via FedEx Home Delivery or USPS. You can also view this map from FedEx to estimate how long a shipment will take to arrive to your location after it leaves our warehouse. We do not currently offer expedited shipping options.

PO Boxes - We allow shipping to a PO box only for small part orders that can go USPS. All other orders require a physical address for us to ship.
