ペピーノゴールド

The fruit tastes like a cross between a melon and cucumber, just as the description says, and the plant itself has been thriving in my frost-free backyard with hardly any fuss. I've already harvested a handful of pepinos and they're sweet enough to eat straight off the vine.

I was surprised at how fast this Pepino Gold started producing fruit—within a month of planting. The sweet cucumber flavor is exactly what I was hoping for, and it's handling our frost-free climate perfectly.

Got three of these planted in a sunny spot and they took off within weeks. The fruit has that melon-like sweetness you'd expect from the name, and being perennial means I'm hoping for year after year of harvests.
