Zinnie 'Benary's Giant Deep Red'

The first seedling that bloomed was so deeply red it looked almost velvety, and the flower head was impressively large. Each fully double bloom holds its shape beautifully even after a few days of rain.

I planted these in my cutting garden and the fully double blooms are even more stunning in person—each one is perfectly formed and holds up beautifully in a vase. They add such a rich, elegant pop of color that my neighbors keep stopping to ask what they are.

Germination rate was excellent, almost every seed sprouted within a week. The blooms are impressively large and that deep ruby-red really pops against the green foliage. Only wish the stems were a bit sturdier for cutting without staking.
