Luffa

The seeds sprouted in less than a week, and it's been fascinating watching the vines climb the trellis. I'm looking forward to harvesting my first luffa sponge, and maybe I'll try eating a young fruit just to see what it tastes like.

Planted these in a sunny spot by the fence and they've gone absolutely wild climbing up the trellis. Already harvested a few young fruits to stir-fry and they had a mild, pleasant crunch. Can't wait to have homegrown loofahs for scrubbing in the bath this fall.

I’m not much of a gardener, but these sprouted fast and the vines climbed my fence like they had somewhere to be. The flowers were pretty enough to toss in a salad, and I’m honestly more excited about eating the young fruit than I am about the sponge.
